About Puget Sound

Puget Sound is actually a huge salt water inland sea that connects to the ocean at the Canadian Border in the North and extends all the way down to Olympia in the South. The many fingers of Puget Sound extend into a wide variety of communities know as the Puget Sound Area.

And, if you prefer a more secluded lifestyle, you can choose from a variety of islands in Puget Sound that are easily accessible by Ferries or boats, most of them even have small airports for smaller commercial and personal planes. This is a lifestyle that attracts many celebrities away from the hubbub of the larger cities.

Puget Sound's pristine waters are home to a wide variety of sealife including our famous Pacific Northwest Salmon plus Halibut, Sole and a great variety of crab and shell fish. During certain times of the year you'll even be able to see whales in the waters alongside massive atomic powered submarines that are based at Bangor on the Olympic Peninsula.

Puget Sound is also home to a vast array of shipping lanes and, perhaps even more well known, the Alaska Crabbing Fleet that is featured on the television series "Deadliest Catch". You can stroll along the waterfront in Seattle and view these enormous ships and fishing boats as well as enjoy fantastic meals in the waterfront restaurants that always feature freshly caught seafood.
