Pacific Northwest

The Pacific Northwest is beyond compare for beautiful scenery ... from the Pacific Beaches in the West to the High Desert regions in the East. If a wide variety of culture and lifestyles pique your interest, you'll find it all here.

The Pacific Northwest consists of the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and parts of Montana. In Washington's portion of the Pacific Northwest you'll find rugged coastline in the West to rolling fields of hay in the East and a central high desert that is home to some of the largest windmill "farms" in the country. The University of Washington in Seattle and Washington State University in Pullman are home to vast research, development and training in agriculture, medicine and engineering, to name a few. The Puget Sound area surrounds the metropolitan city of Seattle with it's amazing diversified culture and dedication to the arts and is home to Microsoft and Boeing.

South of Washington in the Pacific Northwest sits Oregon, a forward thinking state that is as diversified in culture as it is in scenery. The beautiful coastline is home to some of the sandiest beaches around and Western Central Oregon is home to the Dune Buggies that can take your breath away. Interstate 5 runs down the Western half of the state through the Willamette Valley which is one of the richest farmlands in the country. Beautiful, green rolling hills rich with crops. Eastern Oregon features high desert fauna and flora and is home to ranching and farming, too. In southern Oregon you'll find Crater Lake, the largest and deepest lake tucked into a volcanic crater. It's breathtaking.

Idaho, to the East of these two states is unique in its ruggedness. The Central panhandle is some of the most rugged and uninhabited region in the country. It's home to the Sawtooth Mountains and Sun Valley and is a nature hiker's paradise. Southern Idaho is known for it's farmlands, too, and, of course, its famous potatoes.

Idaho feeds into Western Montana and the high mountains of the Bitteroot Valley south of Missoula. Ranching and wheat farming are popular here and this is a perfect area for the Hunter and Fisherman. Wild rivers welcome the adventurers.
